We’re delighted to share that Emily Murphy has officially completed a permanent transfer to Newcastle United Women, signing her first professional contract.

Emily’s footballing journey is a testament to both talent and tenacity. A graduate of the renowned Chelsea FC Women academy, she made her senior debut at just 17 years old before joining Birmingham City Women for the latter half of the 2020–21 Barclays WSL season.

Emily then made the bold move to the United States, where she balanced elite-level football with her education. Over three and a half years, she represented both UNC Women’s Soccer and Wake Forest Women’s Soccer, captaining the latter to the NCAA Championship Final in December 2023.

In 2024, Emily’s rise continued as she stepped onto the international stage, earning selection for the Republic of Ireland senior national team. She has since been capped four times, marking an exciting new chapter in her international career.

This move to Newcastle marks a significant milestone in Emily’s career — and we’re incredibly proud to have played a part in making it happen.

A huge thank you to Emily and her family for placing their trust in the Gen-Z Football team. Special credit goes to @jmullz10, whose tireless work behind the scenes helped bring this deal to life.

Congratulations, Emily — your journey is only just beginning.
